Jan. 16 - MLK Day

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” ~Dr. Martin Luther King

As we remember and honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King we’re facing challenging times in our country. Many of us are anxious and even fearful as our Country is transitioning leadership. Many of us feel divided and disconnected. Some of us even feel hopeless. I encourage you as I encourage myself to look within and remember who we are and where we have come from.

Be motivated to be the change you want to see. Be motivated to use your power for good and the betterment of all you touch. Be motivated to know greater is HE that is within me than he who is in the world. Be motivated to roll up your sleeves and get down in the trenches and WORK, SERVE, SACRIFICE for our right to have ALL men, women and children treated equal!

Dr. King stood principled and anchored in the fight and right for freedom, liberty and justice for all. As we are reminded this day of his dream, let us be motivated to not only dream but to work to make sure our voices are heard and justice is served.

It is time to push past the rhetoric and the fear meant to paralyze and silence. It’s time to unite, working together to restore respect, humility, dignity and moral values in our homes, places of worship, workplaces, schools, communities and our government. Thank you Dr. King for the beautiful roadmap you left to guide our path and pursue our dream.
